Video resizing FAQ
Is this video resizer really free, with no watermark or upload?
Yes. Reframe and export as many clips as you like — no watermark, no signup, no file. Crucially, your video is never uploaded: everything is processed right in your browser, on your own device. That's a real privacy difference from most 'free online' video tools, which upload your clip to their servers.
How do I change a video's aspect ratio for free?
Drop your clip in the Video Studio, pick a target ratio (9:16 for Reels/TikTok/Shorts, 1:1 square, 4:5 for the Instagram feed, 16:9 for YouTube, or 2.39:1 cinematic), choose how to fill the frame (blurred background, crop-to-fill, or a solid colour), then export an MP4. It runs in your browser — free, no watermark.
What is the blurred-background fill?
When your video doesn't match the target shape (e.g. a landscape clip going to a vertical 9:16), instead of black bars the studio fills the empty space with a softly-blurred, zoomed copy of your video. It's the polished look you see on Reels and TikTok — and it's free here. You can also crop-to-fill or use a solid colour.
Does it run on my own hardware?
Yes — that's the point. The heavy lifting happens locally in your browser. On supported browsers it can tap your device's native video hardware for speed; otherwise it uses a built-in engine that still runs entirely on your machine. Either way, nothing leaves your device, and there's no server cost, so it's free.
Will my video keep its audio?
Yes. The audio is kept and muxed back into the exported MP4 by default — there's a 'remove audio' option if you want it silent. Trimming keeps the audio in sync with the trimmed range.
Can I trim, compress, or convert the video too?
Yes. Trim to just the part you want, pick a quality (High / Balanced / Small file) to compress, convert MOV/WebM/MKV into a standard MP4, or export a looping GIF — all in the same studio, all free and in your browser.
What sizes can I export — Reels, TikTok, YouTube?
All the common ones: 9:16 (1080×1920) for Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts; 1:1 (1080×1080) square; 4:5 (1080×1350) for the Instagram feed; 16:9 (1920×1080) for YouTube and landscape; and 2.39:1 cinematic. Pick a preset and export.
How big or long a video can I process?
It works best on short social-length clips (think Reels/TikTok/Shorts). Because everything runs in your browser's memory, very long or 4K clips can be slow or hit memory limits — trim first for the best experience. We're honest about this: for short clips it's fast and free; for feature-length footage a desktop app is still better.
