Old AVI files → modern MP4

Convert an old AVI into a modern MP4 in your browser using the built-in universal engine — old DivX/Xvid-era video is re-encoded to H.264 so it plays on today's phones, TVs and editors. Nothing uploaded.

Nothing uploaded

How to do it

  2. 2Optionally trim.
  3. 3Export the .mp4.

FAQ

Why won't my AVI play anymore?

AVI is a 1990s container and its common codecs (DivX/Xvid/MJPEG) have fallen out of support. Re-encoding to MP4/H.264 makes the footage playable everywhere again.

Does this handle large old files?

AVI conversion uses the built-in universal engine, which is best with files up to a few hundred MB. For very large archives, convert in chunks using trim.

Is my video private?

Yes — the conversion runs entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
